Ohhhh

I've been bad, I know. Just a bit of knitting on the home front, as I have been kind of overwhelmed with things going on here, and it's likely that I won't get enough energy up to delve back into the blogosphere for another month or so. That being said, my Swallowtail Shawl is coming along quite famously actually. I am into the the second lily of the valley border, so I tentatively hope to be done within a week, maybe two.

And I have to say that I really really like the ears, if I do say so myself.

(Good luck at Cornell this year, dear!)

So. Bear Hat is done and gifted (and quite well received). I'm not happy with any of the photos I took of it, so I'll try to get some from Ms. L.

And with that gone, I am down to two projects! Gulp (Swallowtail Shawl) for my evening knitting and my Feather and Fan scarf for travelling. I would take photos, but unblocked lace is unblocked lace, and also it is raining and grey (and not hot, thankfully)

I think I need to get some more Art Vs Craft going on to post here. I have some ideas, but any favourites/suggestions?

Also, there is the odd day that really makes me like this town. It's pouring rain and there's a heavy fog wafting through the streets and I just got back from the library and picking up a baguette, some local cheese and these funny sesame tofu sticks (which are awesome with mango chutney) from the neighbourhood patisserie. And now I am going to geek out and watch me some Star Trek.

Grr, Argh

It's not done (I WILL finish it tomorrow after I revisit one or two points of... embellishment), but I just could not resist!

Err, I blame the heat?

State of The Knit

The State of The Knit is not so good lately.

The Bear Hat! has been languishing so near to complete it's nigh-obscene for about two weeks. I WILL finish in the next 3 days (my weekend).

Gulp (Swallowtail Shawl) has also not been touched in a while, and it looks like unblocked lace (tempted to go down a needle size, but I don't want it to be tiiiny).

Fleece Artist Feather and Fan scarf is tangled as all get out (not hopelessly so, but I need to watch me some T.V. and finish it), and is in the time-out pile. And I do solemnly swear never to wind a centre-pull ball by hand ever again.

I am thinking about starting a chevron scarf (from Joelle Hoverson's Last Minute Knitted Gifts) for myself. I am thinking about working it in two solid colour yarns for some delightful stripyness (and because I want to use what's in my stasth, money is tight).

Photos soon. I promise?

Happy Canada Day all!

Talk and knitting tomorrow. Partying and jazz now.
